Meet Alison

I’m Alison Perry, a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP, Speech Pathology Australia) with over 15 years’ experience working with preschool and school-aged children with communication, literacy, and learning difficulties.

Throughout my career, I’ve seen how challenging reading and spelling can be for many learners and how frustrating it can feel for the adults supporting them. Often, the issue isn’t effort. It’s the approach.

That’s what led me to focus on helping to make structured, evidence-based literacy instruction available to all students.

A proven approach

As a Sounds-Write trainer since 2014, I’ve trained thousands of teachers, parents, tutors, and allied health professionals across Australia and internationally.

Sounds-Write training has been available for over 20 years. It is a structured, linguistic phonics program that takes the guesswork out of teaching reading and spelling. It provides a clear, step-by-step framework that helps learners build skills in a way that makes sense and sticks.

Again and again, I hear the same feedback from those I train:
